Japanese folklore
Myths also swayed the Japanese people to religions, myths, stories and legends. one legened tells how the emperors came to earth: many years ago the godess Amateratsu got given the sun to rule over. Her brother Susanoo the god of the sea was jealous that his sister had gotten that much land to rule over that he went into a rage. He stormed the sky and the war lasted many days. Finnaly he was forced to reatreat. He went down to earth and was wandering around when he met a family. The family was made up of three people, one was a mother, another was a father, and the last was a beautiful girl. He noticed they were crying so he asked them what was wrong. The girl answered "A demonic serpent ate my sisters and is coming back for me!" so he told them that he would help on one condition. He had the girls hand in marrige. The family agreed and he turned the girl into a comb and put the comb in his hair. then he set off for the serpents lair and the serpent popped out but Susanoo was powerful and he took it down in a single blow. But he found a magical sword in the serpent's stomach which he sent to his sister. He turned the girl back into a girl and they got married and had many kids one of which was to rule over the flatlands. But there were many wars and Amateratsu thought that Susanoo's kid wasn't fit to rule. so her grandson was given two gifts the sword Susanoo found and Amateratu's hankerchief. So he got the rule called Yamato. Susanoo was given the night and the two never meet because of their old quarrel.

Facts about Japan
The first and most basic thing you should know is that Japan is in Asia. We are from Canada which is on the other side of the world from Japan. Here are a few things we will look into about Japanese art, such as: pottery, statues, Zen gardens, and Hiaku. Here are things I will also look into about dwellings and structures: roofs, temples, palaces, Gazeebos, and Pagodas.
